Dubai is not only one of the most exciting cities in the middle east but also a heaven for foodies. There are so many restaurants it can be a challenge to choose. I’ve navigated the Dubai food scene for quite a while now and here are my current favourites.
La Serre Bistro, Downtown Dubai
Located behind a two-story glass facade in the stylish Vida Hotel, La Serre Bistro (pictured above) has quickly become one of our favourites. From the chic marble interior design to the great views of the boulevard and attentive service, this venue offers a unique concept in the heart of Downtown Dubai. The menu is delicious, with lots of small plates to share. My favourites include the tuna tartar, the lobster linguine and their freshly made tarte tatin. Also, don’t miss out on their cocktail menu, which features all time favourites with a twist.
Pierchic, Jumeirah Beach
A invited me to this award-winning seafood restaurant for the first time as a surprise for our anniversary and I was thrilled from the start. Pierchic is located on a pier and offers a unique over-the-water dining experience with stunning views of the nearby Burj Al Arab, one of Dubai’s most iconic buildings. The quality of the food is amazing, with fresh and creative seafood dishes and great wine pairings. My tip is to arrive early and enjoy the sunset at the outdoor bar overlooking the Arabian Gulf. Definitely Dubai’s most romantic dinner spot!
Armani Ristorante, Downtown Dubai
Armani Ristorante is the upscale Italian restaurant of the Armani hotel, located in the Burj Khalifa. Living up to the famous Italian brand, this dinner venue is stylish and chic. Ask for a table at the window for stunning views of the Dubai Fountain. The extensive menu offers contemporary Italian dishes with a twist, while leveraging traditional ingredients. We opted for their 4 course tasting menu and it was fantastic. If you do the same make sure to arrive hungry, as portion sizes are quite big for a dégustation menu. Service was impeccable and even the chef came by table by table, which was a nice touch.
Zuma, Dubai IFC
Nestled in the heart of the Dubai International Financial Centre, Zuma is one of the favourite hotspots of the young and beautiful. Considering itself as an upscale version of a japanese Izakaya, Zuma offers an extensive menu of plates to share. I particularly loved their raw dishes, as they tasted not only fresh but incredibly flavourful with a twist. Same for their cocktail menu. Don’t forget to make your reservation, as the location is booked out every weekend and seating is sometimes limited to a two hours slot.
Ewaan, Downtown Dubai
Ewaan offers the most indulgent buffet experience in Downtown Dubai. Located in the Palace Downtown Hotel, the venue is characterized by its Arabian flair and friendly service. The restaurant offers an all day dining buffet experience and probably the most famous Friday brunch in the city. Food choices are extensive, from Arabian treats to Western delicacies and Asian delights. Live cooking stations and the freshest seafood one can ask for complement this all-time-favourite dining experience.
